Terrestrial Environmental Specialists, Inc. co-sponsored a tree and shrub identification workshop with the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center at Wellesley Island State Park.  Bernie Carr and Molly Farrell taught the class.  The focus was identification of trees and shrubs by bark, twigs, and buds.  Most plant identification courses are held during the growing season with leaves present.  This course was offered prior to the emergence of leaves or flowers.  We did note several trees with buds close to bud break.  These included red maple and crack willow.
